Koronki klockowe

bobbin lace; a traditional Flemish technique of making lace on a special cushion where the patron (pattern) was pinned, securing the threads wound around characteristic bobbins. The lace was formed by interlacing and twisting threads held in place by pins. The number of bobbins depended on the lace width and design. The most exquisite bobbin lace included Brussels lace with rich floral raised patterns spread over fine mesh. From the mid-18th century on, Brussels lace often combined bobbin and needle lace for an interesting visual effect. Other popular bobbin laces included delicate walansjenka (Valenciennes lace) and French black lace with flower basket motifs known as Chantilly lace. Court inventories frequently mention also cream or black blonda (blonde lace).
