Tornisol
(lat. Torni solis) litmus; a natural colouring substance derived from seaweed and produced in the Netherlands in a form of oblong cuboids or stripes of linen or paper saturated with the substance. Depending on the environment, it gave a red or blue colour. Tornisol was also used as an ingredient in selected remedies.
