Atłas
(hatłas) satin; a glossy one-faced silk or half-silk fabric, plain or patterned, and with a satin weave, originally produced in the East. In the 12th century, its production began in Italy, in the 14th century, it was first imported to Poland, and in the second half of the 18th century, it was produced in Grodno. Satin was used for kontusze, żupany, dresses, liturgical vestments, and upholstery.
